In the heart of Isola del Gran Sasso, the Municipal Historical Archive preserves centuries of history, housing priceless documents recounting local traditions and recording significant community events. Among its most important holdings are the Libri dei Parlamenti, record books containing the minutes of the monthly local assemblies held to discuss the various aspects of the life of the community.
Today, an ambitious restoration and digitisation project is underway to preserve this important archival heritage. Through videos, documentaries and interviews, the aim is to promote and pass on not only the historical heritage but also the intangible cultural heritage, so that future generations can learn about and appreciate the rich history of Isola del Gran Sasso.
